Abolição Oxford Batizado 2010

You are all invited to participate in the 10th Abolição Oxford Capoeira Batizado. This is our annual grading event at which all the members of the group join together with international guest teachers to celebrate another year of Abolição Oxford Capoeira. Capoeiristas of all levels are welcome to take part in the weekend's events. The following details outline the programme of events taking place from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th November.

At the East Oxford Games Hall

Thursday 11th Nov

• 8.00pm - 9.30pm Capoeira Workshop with Brazilian guest teacher Professor Banto from Romania (Grupo Vadiacao)

Friday 12th Nov

• 6.00pm - 7.00pm Kids Capoeira workshop
• 8.00pm - 9.30pm Capoeira workshop with guest teacher

Saturday 13th Nov

• 10.00am - 12.00pm Capoeira workshop with guest teachers
• 12.00pm - 1.00pm Kids Capoeria workshop
• 1.00pm - 3.00pm Capoeira workshop with guest teachers
• 3.30pm - 5.30pm Batizado + guest teachers and Mestres

At Donnington Bridge Boat Club

Saturday

• 8.00pm - 9.00pm Afoxe Dance workshop with Contra Mestre Perna Longa + Live percussion
• 9.00pm - 1.00am Brazilian Party with DJ Negão + DJ Bisquim + DJ Arrependido.. Live percussion band.. Banda Na Lata, Olodum, Timbalada.. Caipirinhas..

*Entry £7 but £5 for Batizado participants plus free dance workshop

At The Asian Community Centre, Manzil Way

Sunday

• 12.00pm - 1.30pm Capoeira workshop + Farewell roda

Price

• £70 for students doing the Batizado which includes all workshops
• £50 for all workshops

Please note that the Abolição Trust will also be involved in the Batizado weekend. Friends and family are welcome to come and watch and a small entry donation will be in support of the Abolição Trust. There will be CDs for sale, Brazilian clothes, light refreshments etc.
